    Prego. This is a great spot in the Rice Village. One of a few restaurants in Houston that always hits the right note. Houston has a great Italian tradition in restaurants and this one does not disappoint.

Texas Pepper Works (TM) - Riba Foods

Opp_jalapenos_bg Texas Pepper Works is part of Riba Foods, located here in Houston, you probably know their Arriba salsa best, but the line of products they offer is much more diverse than just salsa. 

I am particularly excited about the Candy Krisp candied jalapeno peppers.  Poured over cream cheese is simple and awesome, with some chips or crackers.  That's it.   But take a look at their website for a whole load of recipe ideas from dips to entrees.

This is great local company, started in 1988 by Mexican immigrant Miguel Barrios, pioneer of the "open-roast" process that is still used today.  The factory and company are family-owned and still Houston proud.

The presence of chili or pepper as seasoning not only manages to give some spice to bland dishes that could be without their presence, but also adds a high content of vitamins A and C, iron and magnesium, along with certain healing powers.

I put these in everything. Tuna fish salad will never be the same without it. Breakfast burritos and sausage biscuits are fantastic.
